I was born the 20th of April 1889 at Braunau am Inn, Austria. My father wanted me to be a customs official like him, but I really wanted to be an Artist, so I left school without any real qualifications to live the life of bohemian starving artist. In World War 1, I enlisted in the Bavarian army. Towards the end of the war, I was struck with temporary blindness after a poison gas attack. I had a lot of time to think about things, like decide what to do with my life. I decided my mission in life would be to be dedicated to restoring Germany to it's former glory, the height of the Prussian Empire. After I recovered, I joined the National Socialist German Workers Party. Encouraged by some early successes, I tried to seize power in a coup in Munich, that unfortunately didn't work out and left me suicidally depressed. And arrested for treason. But my trial worked out well for me, it just got me more popular support, and when I was jailed, I used the time to write my best selling biography, "My Struggle." During the depression we started doing really well, we had a series of successes leading to where I am today, Chancellor of my grand third Reich!
